How to play Tipzone League
Tipzone League is the main tipping game from Tipzone, where players bet virtual money on real horse races in an effort to become the top tipster.
The primary Tipzone League is ongoing and reflects 'all time' performance, but other 'live' leaderboards show; tipsters with tips on today, performance over the last seven days and over the last twenty-eight days. Tipzone League can be played simply for fun, to test staking plans, to compete against friends, or for any other reason.
Tipzone also provides the opportunity for groups of players to establish individual mini-leagues through which to compete in specific competitions, say across the period of a major festival or maybe across the Flat or National Hunt season. Individual mini-leagues may set their own conditions of entry.
My Budget
- We have designed Tipzone League as far as possible to mirror a real-life situation.
- When you join the Tipzone game, a fictional £1,000 is placed into your account (the opening balance).
- Every Saturday is 'pay day', where players receive an additional £100.
- You can bet as much or as little of that as you like on whatever events are available at the time, but be warned when it's gone, it's gone!
- Remember if you wish to take part in mini-leagues within Tipzone, be sure you have enough money to take part by the rules or criteria of that competition.
Placing Tips
Once registered the process of placing a tip is simple:
- Chose an event (race meeting) and a race within that meeting.
- Open up our stylised 'tip-slip' and enter your tip as follows:
- Select the horse within that race that you wish to tip.
- Choose the bet type - win or each way - and select a stake.
- Choose the odds available from our live feed or the SP.
- Click confirm bet.
- Once a tip is placed into the system, it cannot be cancelled.
- Our odds feed will be updated every 10 minutes.
Tip Reconciliation
- When the results of the events become available, Tipzone League will settle the bet on a first-past-the-post basis, and update the Leaderboard.
- Non-runners are refunded.
League Performances
- Tipzone players are arranged into a league table, with the player at the top being the player who has made the greatest percentage increase ('ROI' - Return On Investment) since the game began.
- League tables also show other criteria including numbers of tips placed, accumulated profit, strike rate (wins and places). Leader boards may be re-indexed for any of these criteria, but affinity prizes will only be awarded based upon ROI.
- Other leagues tables show the players with the greatest percentage this month, and this week.
- You won't see yourself on the league until you have had at least ten tips settled.
Mini-Leagues
- Players can create their own mini-leagues, where groups of friends or colleagues or simply other Tipzone players can compete against each other.
- The purpose of mini-leagues is to allow groups the opportunity of playing to a common set of rules or criteria (where Tipzone sets no such rules or criteria) and for performance to be seen in isolation within a separate group specific leader board.
- The originating player (the Group Admin) must invite other players to join the league, set the criteria by which the group plays and to bar players who do not conform to the rules of that group or whose method of play or conduct is at odds with the principles of fair play.
- Group Admins will have discretion for the purposes of inviting and baring players from mini-groups, but GG.COM will act as arbiter where requested to do so. In such cases, having assessed the facts, GG.COMs decision will be final.
Tip Alerts
- Users can add alerts that tell when a Tipster has added a new tip. Alerts can be SMS or Email based.
Fair Play
- Our expectation is that each Tipzone player should 'play fair' within the broad scope of the game and any specific rules set for mini-leagues by the Group Admin.
- As such no player should attempt to circumvent the rules or conditions, or behave in a manner that might cause distress to other players, such as through comments on the Forum, email, blogs or otherwise transcribed to players which is likely to cause offence.
- Such blatant incidents would include remarks which the administrator considers to be racist, sexist, homophobic, or discriminatory in content. In such cases GG.COM reserves the right to take any action it considers appropriate.
- Additionally, tipsters will disappear from the leader board after a period of ten days without placing any tips. Once further tips are placed into the system, the tipster will re-enter the leader board at the appropriate position.
