Kenny just super on hurdling debut
PA News
It was well worth the wait to see Super Kenny as the well-regarded youngster opened his account over hurdles at Stratford.
Owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing would have preferred the ex-French-trained gelding to have been running at the Cheltenham Festival but various problems led to them having to settle for the SIS Live Juvenile Novices' Hurdle instead.
Barry Geraghty, having his only ride of the day, sat on the tail of market rival Ultimate (10-11 favourite) until the last flight and Super Kenny (5-4) picked up smoothly on the run-in to oblige by a cool two and a quarter lengths.
Tom Symonds, assistant trainer to Nicky Henderson, said: "Highclere have been very good about him - first he couldn't run because of the ground, then he had a foot problem and he banged his leg so we had to mummify him over the weekend to make sure he could run!
"There's no plan, obviously Aintree is a possibility and Nicky also thinks he has the option of the Flat."
