Jarvis unearths Cambridgeshire hope

One of the leading fancies for next month's totesport.com Cambridgeshire hit the buffers in Lingfield's Felbridge Handicap, but another emerged in his place.
Jeremy Noseda's evens favourite Lost In The Moment occupied the higher reaches of the betting for the Newmarket contest on October 2 but he ran a slightly perplexing race and could only manage fourth, around five lengths behind easy winner Sarrsar.
Sarrsar (7-2) was a beaten favourite in his two previous starts but has few miles on the clock and skipped away nicely on the home turn under Frankie Dettori. He was cut to 16-1 from 33s by the sponsors.
Trainer Michael Jarvis said: "I wouldn't discount the Cambridgeshire but I'd need to be sure he would get in, as you never quite know with three-year-olds. I was very surprised he was beaten at Ripon last time, I'm not sure if it was just the track, but he was very smooth today."
Lost In The Moment had to be scrubbed along by Ryan Moore to keep pace down the back straight but did at least pick up in reasonable, if not scintillating, style after the home bend and is out to 20-1 for the Cambridgeshire.
David Lanigan's Sparkling Smile was sent off at 7-1 in the Britanniacrest Recycling Handicap despite having won her previous four races, and came home two and a quarter lengths clear in the hands of Ted Durcan.
Lanigan said: "There are only about two fillies' handicaps a month, so it's hard to find races for her, and she doesn't want cut in the ground, so we have to miss a couple of options. She's the first to win five in a row for me."
Sir Mark Prescott unveiled another of his usual prospects in division one of the Building Magazine Joseph Aloysius Handicap, True To Form going off the 11-10 favourite despite a 307-day lay-off and just needing to be pushed out by Seb Sanders.
The trainer said: "He was very sick in the spring, he had ringworm and looked terrible. That's why he wasn't out, but he'll be busy now. He'll go to the sales in October and hopefully he will stay a bit further, so he can interest the jumping boys."
Peter Winkworth's stellar run continued with a double as Safari Team (7-2) landed the MSS Interiors Median Auction Maiden Stakes and Oil Strike (5-1) the Burstow Handicap, both ridden by Ian Mongan.
