Morning J,

Hope you well and as always I enjoy your write ups and take note of your selections.
HANNIBAL HAYES is a selection which took my eye especially with the Jockey booking but I've just been informed of a piece of info relating to COOLER CLIMES in the same race.

The price this morning was at 22's but has been a subject of a gamble as within a short period it has dropped to as low as 10-1.
No real detail in the info other than it's been working well showing excellent speed times over today's distance.

I've placed a small win bet with Betfair at 16's and a decent place bet.

Morning George, the 4:10 has all the makings of a solid race and with my fancy, your info and the money behind the Lavelle runner it looks pretty wide open. No doubt I will get a phone call from my guy in the Hill's camp in a minute who will inform me that their runner is fancied as well and then i will be in a real predicament!

I have already had some info today from a friend of mine who gives me a horse once every 6 months. He owns numerous horses both in the UK and in France and when he gets in touch his info is usually spot on. The horse today is BILIDN in the 3:40

'Hello mate, I've got one for you today, horse is Bilidn and it runs in the 3:40 at Kempton. Connections have an almighty gamble planned and it is fully expected to win. I'm going all out on this one and I suggest you do to. Also take a look at the in running betting as the jockey should put the horse out the back of the field so may get a bigger price than the SP. If it wins you owe me a drink. Must have a catch up soon, hope the families well. Cheers Andrew.'

Make of this what you will but I've had 50 points at 4/1.

Bank = 650

As expected George the Hill's runner in the 4:10 is well fancied and my guy advised a midstakes e/w bet. This race is turning into a nightmare a my confidence surrounding the Moore runners is now somewhat deflated, especially as my guy stated that he was expected to need the run. Only option will now be to lay him out in running and attempt to back the Hill's runner but I have made my bed now so I guess I will just have to lie in it.

P.S:- they expect Willies Wonder to be backed into favouritism but there may be a slight drift before the off as late money is expected to come for the Spencer mount. For those having a bet it may therefore be worth spliting your stake, placing 50% now at the current price and then the other 50% before the price in the hope that you may get a slightly bigger price.

Sugar Prince's trainer pretty confident today..just read his blog and he's just hoping he doesn't bump into one like the lto.
Maybe rfc between Hills and this one.

Think I would rather have 1 & 4 in a RF in the 2:40 at Kempton. The 4:10 is looking more and more like a gamblers graveyard

Very frustrating day yesterday as I only returned a small profit despite my No 1 fancy for the day storming to victory at 10/1. I don't really like the look of much today so I'm keeping bets to a minimum in the hope that they return a profit as I would really like to finish this thread on Firday around the 1000 point mark.

Bank = 798.63

4:25 Haydock - TIGER O'TOOLE (6/1) - 15 points e/w - This is a horse which I have been watching for a while, waiting for him to step up in trip. He was a very progressive hurdler, beating the likes of Walkon and held an OR of 137 at his height. His chasing career hasn't been so promising though; he often jumped carelessly and lacked the necessary pace to compete at the finish over 2 miles. However the trainer took him off the circuit and gave him intensive schooling over fences and the result was there for all to see last time out where the combination of the step up in trip, a great Moloney ride and an impeccable round of jumping saw the horse win comfortably. As a result of that win he has subsequently be raised 5lb but if he continues to progress and improve I don't see that being a major hurdle. Obviously the likes of Bold Sir Brian will give him a real test and may well win but I just have a feeling that there is more to come from the Tiger and with connections looking at a few big handicap entries in the coming months they must think he is better than his current mark.

I will also be having 2.50 points e/w on YOU KNOW YOURSELF (9/1) in the same race.

7:25 Kempton - FINNS RAINBOW (16/1) - 7.50 points e/w - The 6f course at Kempton has been a very happy hunting ground for me in recent weeks/months and I'm hoping to continue that trend again tonight. I would be lying if I said that this is a good race, in fact it’s a truly terrible race with pretty much every horse in the field being a serial under achiever.

The key to races of this type, in my opinion, is to predict how the race will unfold, who will set the pace, will it be fast, will the race suit front runners, hold up horses, or those that race prominently etc. Looking at this particular field I would say that the pace will come from the outside stalls in the form of Blueberry Fizz and Mark Anthony and we will see them swooping round in the early stages, in front of the likes of Overwhelm, Cherry Cat and Finns Rainbow coming out of the inside draws to begin their tussle for the lead. How these two horses push on is then crucial to the final stages of the race. If they go hard then for me Blueberry Fizz makes all, breaks his maiden tag and gets himself in the winner’s enclosure.  The reason for this assumption is that he has form over 7 furlongs and therefore should stay all day, and if he can find a few lengths on his rivals  in the straight I can't see anything catching him (Mark Anthony will need the run and will no doubt fade in the final furlong).
  However, if the pace is just a steady one then the horses which hug the rail and sit just off the leaders will be finishing fast and finishing first. Out of the three previously mentioned above I have chosen to side with FINN'S RAINBOW and there are a few reasons why. Firstly, Morris is booked to ride and presumably could have picked any number of runners in the field as he has ridden at least 3 or 4 on numerous occasions. Secondly, having watched the replays of Finn's last few races he always travelled strongly but did not respond to his jockey's urgings and seemed to shy away from other horses when up close and personal in the shake up. For me the horse is therefore crying out for some form of headgear and today connections have finally decided to give the blinkers a go. Finally, the trainer is in good form and has had a few nice priced winners recently. He is also very savvy when it comes to purchasing older horses from top yards and has a very good strike rate with these types. Although the connections of Finn picked him up for peanuts, I would be surprised if he doesn't win a race at some point, and he won’t find a better opportunity than tonight!

These two should help you get there...Spartan Spirit 6.55 Kemp and Zafeen Pearl 8.25.

Money for Spartan says it all and Zafeen AW horse through and thru....but e/w shot (Megalala well clear on speed).

Good luck today..I had a result yest with nice fc in the big gamble race which you were right to point out.... was a nightmare with that market!

Good luck today...oh and the Nordblad has one runner tonight Compton Target...gotta be worth a sniff!

Cheers mate, I will definitely take a look at your selections. You are right to point out that the gamble on Spartan speaks volumes as Morrison knows the time of day and very rarely leaves his money behind. Might  be a little bit short for me now though and may look for a bit of e/w value in the form of IF WHAT OR MAYBE but only because he should get an easy lead and might be able to hang on for a place. Haven't had a chance to look at the 8:25 but that is my next port or call and I will let you know my thoughts.

Luckily I didn't lose anything on the maiden race as I laid my initial selection in running and backed the Hill's horse who put in a very promising display. Unfortunately those bets don't count for the purposes of this thread though.

You Know Yourself seems to be an interesting sort which i think has a real chance today even though it is a step up in class, carrying bottom weight and having Ryan Mania on board i think has to be a massive plus.

I have followed Ryan for the pass couple of months and he has thrown up some good priced winners in recent weeks 20/1, 11/1, 6/1, 12/1, 13/2  and some good e/w shots at 22/1 3rd, 25/1 2nd, 100/1 2nd and that is just from the start of March til today . Most recent winners was a double on he uttoexter card on 17/03 with Lackamon @ 11/1 and Baltic Pathfinder @ 20/1 which are both trained by Sue Smith with Lackamon owned by her to.

Another interesting point about You know yourself is 5 out of the last 7 rides including its last 3 have been by Shane Byrne where the stats show form of P34. I think the booking of Ryan Mania by Sue Smith could be all the information you need to know she fancies her chance of a place at least in this race and at bottom weight i cant see why not.

Ryan also has another ride for Sue Smith in the 3:15 Tahiti Pearl however this is only a 3 horse race and i fancy Artic Ben in that particular race.
