17:15 WOLVERHAMPTON
Excuse Me out to 8/1, I'm gonna stick 2 points on it at that price, it looks a lot more like the price I expected for it.

EXCUSE ME - 2 POINTS @ 8/1

Wolverhampton 15:25 - ZOMERLUST @ 11/5
Highest rating in the field and looks best horse by far. Rattled off good few wins on the turf and had good race in 2nd last Oct on AW debut against better rival.

2 points @ 11/5

Wolverhampton 15:55 - KHAJAALY @ 12/1
Excuses past few runs varying from race not run to style to traffic problems, few pacemakers in this race which will suit. Consistent at the track and is capable of going in again.

1 point win @ 12/1
1 point place @ 3.05

Wolverhampton 16:30 - SPINNING RIDGE @ 9/4
In great form, won 2 of past 3, two victories split by finishing 4th to next time out winner.

3 points win @ 9/4

Wolverhampton 17:00 - WARDEN BOND @ 11/2
Got off the mark recently at Wolves and is only 2 pounds higher in what I think is a weaker race. Consistent performer who should be well able to defy such a small penalty.

2 points win @ 11/2

Khajaaly holds on to third to land the place bet, and Warden Bond wins! Spinning Ridge ran a horrible race and Zomerlust was caught for speed by the looks of it.

Southwell 15:45 - UPPER LAMBOURN @ 5/1

This is a competitive race, but this horse is bidding for a hatrick and is 3/4 on the Southwell fibresand. It did well to win LTO when it looked in trouble but managed to quicken very well to get up and win by 3/4l. He is down at no. 7 in the weights, but has the highest RPR of 99 in the field.

2 points win @ 5/1

Southwell 16:15 - PELICAN ROCK @ 7/1

Had tough race last time back from break, drawn out wide but was sent off well backed favourite. Has every chance today of making amends. Certainly has shown glimmer of ability and if he lives up to potential he can win this.

1 point win @ 7/1

Southwell 16:45 - THREE WHITE SOCKS @ 6/1

Selected this 11 days ago but looked like it needed the run after 239 days in retrospect so deserves another chance based on previous runs.

1 point win @ 6/1

Wolverhampton 14:00 - METHAALY @ 14/1

5 wins & 13 places at Wolves for this 9 year old and has won races off this mark in the past, and also a race at Doncaster where he was rated 75. Plenty of ability in him, and was entitled to need that run last week, where he was last - but only by 2.75 lenghts. Eyeshield & blinkers back on.

1 point win @ 14/1
2 points place @ 6.8

Wolverhampton 14:30 - BOND STYLE @ 5/4

Progressive horse who looks nailed on for victory. This is his 5th attempt but looks the easiest race so far, considering previous race was won by Kickingthelilly (rated 66). Paul Hanagan booked.

4 points win @ 5/4

2nd at 16/1, 6/1 & 5/4. Extremely annoying. Pelican Rock doubled in price and ran a good race, a step up in trip might help - looks the one to take from it.

Not a day to advertise racing off tomorrow!

Kempton 15:25 - Lady Caprice @ 13/8

This is on a roll over the minimum trip, winning twice in January off marks of 54 & 62. Looks well capable of winning again today considering the rival she beat LTO was ahead of the handicapper by a couple of pounds. Handles the polytrack as he won at Wolves two runs ago.

Kempton 16:30 - Pale Orchid @ 13/8

This one looks the banker of the day. Won a 5f sprint comprehensively and then beat odds-on shot Dark Castle by 2.25 lengths. She was going away on that occasion and there looked to be plenty of racing left in her on that occasion. This step up in trip today will not inconvenience based on that run. Luke Morris is a jockey in form who has the ability to win this race, although Discoverer & Fairway To Heaven certainly have the potential to run her close.

*PS - She tends to pull very hard in the early stages so some in-running layers might offer a biggish price in the early stages, but this appears to be something not to get concerned about.

Two fillies, both in bids for hatricks - looks like a nice double!

3 points win double @ 5.89/1

Bit of a turn in fortunes over the past two days, so here goes an effort to turn it around.

Wolverhampton 14:25 - Kirsty's Lad @ 18/1 331 with 32 red

I fancy this at a tasty price tomorrow. LTO 7 days ago he got bustled and bumped near constantly, being hampered 7f out and then blocked when making progress 2f from home. True, apart from that run, he is well out of form with poor runs this winter - but everything else in the race is way out of form and Kirsty's Lad's last effort suggests that a return to form may well be on the cards. At 18/1, its worth finding out if he can bounce back considering he has won over C&D - and all 4 career wins have been on the Wolverhampton polytrack.

1 point win @ 33/1
1 point place @ 7.4

Wolverhampton 15:00 - Drive Home @ 9/2 - 5/1 now

Up 5lb for his win LTO, beating a subsequent winner by a length. That came after a return from a long absence so he could well go in again today. There looks to be some more improvement in him - although a danger could come from Muhandis who hinted at improvement last time. The visor replaces the cheekpieces today so I'm going to back both and hopefully nail the winner from the two.

Drive Home - 1 point win @ 5/1
Muhandis - 1 point win @ 11/1

Wolverhampton 16:05 - Black Coffee @ 18/1

This is another one out of form but considering he bagged 5 C&D victories last winter - twice off 1lb lower than todays mark of 68, another chance can be afforded to him. He is down 2lb for his last effort which strengthens his case.

1 point win @ 18/1
1 point place @ 5.4

Meydan 15:45 - Dark Matter @ 7/2 - now 4/1

This one has a great chance at the weights considering he beat two of today's rivals last time out. He rallied really well on that occasion and looks to have a great chance of winning today. Multiple winner in Singapore.

2 points win @ 4/1

Meydan 16:20 - Songcraft @ 4/1

This looks like a seriously competitive race, but Songcraft is unbeaten in three starts, the last of which was at Meydan off 5lb lower where he beat several of today's rivals. He looks a progressive individual who could well win again today, although this is a hot race.

2 points win @ 4/1

52/1 forecast! Thought about putting it in 5 mins before the off, said "nah, I won't bother".

Still, I'm happy with Muhandis winner @ 12/1, Drive Home second at 7/2. Fantastic ride on the winner by Chris Cattlin.

Feb has been a good month so far. One or two bad days definitely stunting the growth of the P/L - but I'm getting there.

As mentioned earlier, missed out on a 52/1 forecast by not including it - that would've been nice! Regardless, Muhandis @ 12/1 & Songcraft @ 4/1 make a good day overall.
