SMALLJOHN is a dangerous type when allowed to dominate his races, as was the case on his penultimate start when, after making most of the running, he looked the most likely winner as soon as he kicked clear entering the straight and went on to a comfortable win.

The race panned out very differently on his next and most recent start, unable to dictate things as he would have preferred but found the strong pace very much to his liking, he notched up a C&D double and won by the same margin as he did on his previous start defying  6lb hike in the weights.

The handicapper has taken a dim view of that result and has raised him a further 6lb today, things will be tougher from now on but the hat-trick still looks within reach and he is taken to go in again today.

Divine Force is expected to give the selection most to do back on a left-handed track, he has had a busy campaign this year and it may have taken its toll on him when he finished fourth at Kempton last time out.

A consistent sort who had three wins to his name in January, the small break could have refreshed him up a bit and he should be thereabouts once again.

FORMIDABLE GUEST has chalked up three wins already this year and went very close to making it four on her last start, losing out to Stand Guard by ½l who found the steady pace more to his liking and was winning this race for the second year on the trot.

A winner the last time he tackled this trip back in January at Lingfield and has only finished outside the first three on one occasion this year, has a revised mark now but he looks the most likely winner and is can make it four wins from six starts.
