Epsom Downs
Epsom Downs Home to the Derby and Oaks, Epsom Downs has been staging the former event since 1780 and it is generally recognised as the most famous horse race in the world. Quite probably the most unusual and testing Flat racing track on the planet, the twelve-furlong Derby trip provides a roller-coaster ride, most notably the turn into the most famous bend in racing, Tattenham Corner.
Effect of the Draw
There isn't much of a draw bias over the 5f course these days but there is over 6f and 7f, when front-runners drawn low have an advantage on all ground except soft (when the fields usually come to the stand rail).
Concentrate on: the bottom six stalls over 6f and 7f (particularly front-runners), except on soft ground.
